I had the good fortune to be introduced by Malcolm to his best friend Nick and Jill about 15 years ago and remember thinking “What lovely people” Over the years we spent more time with both of them and Nick always took such a keen interest in our lives and particularly our travels. He had a good sense of humour and his eyes would sparkle when he found something funny. We even saw that sparkle in his eyes during our regular catch ups on zoom throughout lockdown. We were so glad that Nick and Jill got to do their long-awaited trip to New Zealand before COVID put a stop to their travels. I am sure this will have provided some wonderful memories of their time there for Jill.
Meanwhile I have a message from Nick
Life is just a passing phase Where we share our love And our children we raise Where we care for our friends And are kind to all men (and women)
And when the time comes For us to travel beyond The world we have known We leave nothing behind But the seeds we have sown And we take with us the love you have shown.
