Dad,

I could spend all day writing stories on here about all the happy times you have given me in my life but then there would be no space for anyone else to write anything.

For me I want to focus on you, your strength of character for all the setbacks that came your way you never complained and always came back better and stronger, if not physically in the man you were the man I admired. You have taught me how to grow to become the man i am today and to know that even with challenges in life that you can always come back stronger.

Although you were not always a man to express your feelings outwardly the 3 highlights for me were when I got married and when both Ethan and George were born. To see the pride and admiration in your face on who I had become you didn't need to say anything to me I could just see it. The light in your eyes once you became a grandad made me know the kind of love I grew up with as a child and which I will never fully appreciate but know i was so lucky to have it.

On a lighter note you were always a great taxi driver taking me and my friends to town and even occasionally picking us up in the early hours. You have always been supportive of what I have wanted to do and my golf although not the talent of the family you were still following me round in the Leslie wood in my 30's. This meant so much to me and to be able to win that trophy with you watching (holing that wedge to win my game) and celebrate those times I will always cherish same as when I started playing.

One day you Andy and I will be able to play that Sunday afternoon 9 holes again

Love Geoff xx
